All around the world, women have always fought for their emancipation and this was not any different in Ghent. Join us in exploring the streets of the city in order to discover the foot steps of striking women, from the Maid of Ghent to the Maid of Borremans and from the women around Emperor Charles to the women of Maurice Maeterlinck. Who does not know Vina Bouvy and Hélène Maréchal yet? Which obstacles did they have to face and what drove them to keep going and to contribute to change the history of Ghent? Discover their statues, their personal stories and their legacy.
