A tradition that’s still alive and kicking thanks to five generations of master distillers.

In 1869 Karel Lodewijk Filliers (the founder) bought land to start his own farming business. In 1880, his nephew Kamiel Filliers (the second generation), obtained a license to distill the liqueur jenever, adding this activity to his agricultural firm. Every generation went further on the path Karel set up, enlarging the plant and creating new products.

As one of the last “hot” distilleries in Belgium the Filliers Distillery produces its genever from a secret family recipe.

Filiers has got three distilleries which allow the company to develop a wide variety of liqueurs.

During the visit you will learn all there is to know about the distilling process. You can admire the shining copper of the enormous stills and you will visit the maturing warehouses. You will get soaked up by the fabulous odours, aroma’s and the bewildering atmosphere.

No visit is complete without tasting and comparing the wonderful “glaasjes van plezier” (glasses filled with pleasure). Enjoy!
